Pollinator Safari Field Training
Wednesday, June 25th, 2025 from 5:30-7pm at UMN Bee Lab (1634 Gortner Ave).
Join Elaine and Elise to learn the basics of bee and pollinator ID, where to find your favorite pollinators, and how to lead a field event (also known as a "pollinator safari" or "pollinator scavenger hunt"). NOTE: This training is for folks who have already applied and been accepted into the Pollinator Ambassadors program. To learn more and apply, visit our Requirements page.
Parking around the Bee Lab is limited. The closest option are the metered spots outside of Hodson Hall on Folwell Avenue, or metered spots down Gortner Avenue. Other options include the Bell Museum lot ($6), Gortner Avenue Ramp, or on side streets around Blaze Credit Union (free, but a 10 minute walk).
Pollinator Ambassador In-Person Workshop
Saturday, July 26th, 2025 from 10am-12pm at the Rochester Regional Extension Office (140 Elton Hills Lane NW, Rochester MN 55901)
Join program leaders Elaine and Elise to learn all things Pollinator Ambassador! This training will be an opportunity to learn more about the Pollinator Ambassadors Program, as well as essential content for volunteers including pollinator biology and conservation basics, how to be a good public speaker, what to expect at an outreach event, and all the volunteer requirements. You will get to interact with the Pollinator Toolkits and get a feel for our pollinator outreach materials.
